Poster Presentation Guidelines
A poster session is a graphic presentation of an author’s research. Authors illustrate their study findings by displaying graphs, photos, diagrams, and a small amount of text on poster boards.
Presentations from randomized trials and cohorts should follow the Aver Conferences guidelines, including reporting of study designs, statistical methods, and outcomes by demographic variables.
Of particular note, please consider whether there is substantive evidence of differences in effect by sex or other key demographic groups. If so, a stratified analysis should be made available during the presentation of the abstract. Please also note whether the study is ongoing or completed and whether the results are preliminary or final.
The poster boards are 4 feet (48 inches) high by 8 feet (96 inches) long, landscape orientation. The useable area of the poster board is 45 inches by 93 inches and is the maximum recommended size for posters. The minimum size recommended is 24 inches by 36 inches so attendees can see the poster at a minimum of 10 feet away. The face of the poster board is covered with Velcro-receptive fabric. Push pins will be provided for your poster.
Format and Required Information
Poster material should be well labelled and legible from a distance of 10 to 15 feet. The title should be the same as the title submitted with the abstract and appear in boldface at the top. Nouns, pronouns, verbs, and other important words begin with uppercase letters; coordinating conjunctions, articles, and prepositions of 3 letters or fewer should all be in lowercase letters unless they are the first or last words in a title or subtitle.
Presenting authors should print their physical poster by themselves and should bring to the conference hall.
